Anthony Berino Economic Development has been in the communities of Anthony and Berino since November 2003, working in partnership with the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance (MVEDA) and the New Mexico State Economic Development Department to promote industrial and economic growth.

The potential for economic growth in Anthony is possible because of its location, easy access to the interstate, proximity to the international ports of entry, the availability of land and industrial parks, and the available workforce.

AB-ED and the communities of Anthony and Berino are working hard to establish a favorable environment for businesses locating to our area.

ABED is currently working on the development of an Industrial Park/Business Complex to accommodate businesses who are considering expanding or relocating in the Anthony-Berino community.

The Anthony Berino International Business Centre (ABIBC) will be approximately 40 acres.  Preliminary planning suggests 4 five acre sites and 16 two acre sites (combinations possible to accommodate the user). In addition, a 30,000 square foot industrial shell building is planned to provide a location for companies seeking an existing structure.   An office and business incubator building is being planned for ABIBC by Tierra Del Sol Housing Corporation, a non-profit housing corporation with long-standing ties to Anthony.

LOGISTICS ADVANTAGE: Anthony is on one of the busiest I-10 corridors in the southwest, with traffic flowing east and west on I-10, south into Mexico and north to I-25. It is 30 minutes from the El Paso International Airport, a facility already used for moving international industrial cargo.

DEFENSE ADVANTAGE: Anthony is in close proximity to both Fort Bliss, White Sands Missile Range and NASA related projects in Las Cruces. These facilities use substantial contracting for services, testing and evaluation in their various missions and projects. Anthony is 20 minutes from New Mexico State University, which is engaged in substantial research and development for the Department of Defense.   Anthony is a federally designated HUB-Zone.  Businesses located within these zones have added contractual advantages when dealing with the federal government.

LABOR ADVANTAGE: Anthony is in the middle of the New Mexico and El Paso labor force – commuting would not be an issue for labor. Housing is readily available as well, and affordable. Anthony also has an established branch of the Doņa Ana Branch Community College, which has its strength in vocational training relevant to area industry.
